My Story
Initially, when I began my college journey at Saddleback College, I was initially a STEM major that was learning Biochemistry or BioMedical Engineering as I had a passion for helping people and I felt that would be the right path for me. During my time at Saddleback College, I was a part of the Associated Students Government (ASG), where I eventually was elected as Vice President by the entire student body of 25,000 students. I was directly responsible for attending Campus Wide Committee meetings with college administration as well as leading my direct team of directors within our organization of 80+ active members.
This is when I slowly began to discover my passion for marketing, I immediately took on the role of assisting the Publicity Committee (PC) with their marketing efforts and became responsible for redesigning their website through WIX. Then one day on campus I saw a bland piece of paper posted around campus, but in the basic black font was a new restaurant requesting a website developer to assist them in creating their website and online presence. I fell in love with the process of digital marketing and eventually switched my academic plan to obtain a degree in Marketing instead.
That following semester I enrolled at Orange Coast College (OCC) where I became a member of the school's Crew Team, which consisted of waking up 6 days a week at 5 am to commute to school for the nearly daily 6:30 am practice. Even though I have a personal history of playing sports throughout my life, this process of being a collegiate-level student-athlete taught me the necessary skills of being determined, disciplined, and hard-working, which are still traits that I carry to this day. Since we were the only community college team, we ended up racing at various 4-year schools. Thanks to our rigid training program, we continuously beat whichever school we came up againist.
After obtaining three Associate Degrees from OCC, I transferred to San Diego State University (SDSU) where I immediately became involved with the American Marketing Association (AMA) and the Association of Information Technology Professionals (AITP). Fast forward to today, I am currently the Vice President of Operations of AMA, during my time in the club we have been awarded Most Improved Organization once and Most Outstanding Event for Professional Networking Night (PNN) twice now. As well as holding an internship position as a Marketing Strategist for Stromer EV Bikes.
